2. One Million Pounds campaign: Cumberland Community Foundation, in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank, is asking the public to help provide food for hungry families through its One Million Pounds for Second Harvest campaign. The goal is to raise $18,600, which is enough to bring 31 truckloads of food to the community. National distribution sites have donated food from the manufacturers that is available to Second Harvest to distribute to its food pantry partners. The donated food is free, but it has to be brought by truck to the community. It costs $600 to get one tractor-trailer to the food bank. Donate online at cumberlandcf.org/onemillionpounds or make a check payable to CCF and mail it to Cumberland Community Foundation, PO Box 2345, Fayetteville, NC 28302.
