It is amazing to me that June and July have both flown by, but at least we can be relieved that A.C. Moore and Michael’s are prepared for Halloween and Thanksgiving. I was quite surprised on my last visit to these stores. I was not, and still am not, ready to see jack o’ lanterns, ghosts and bats in the stores. To me, it is summer until Sept. 23. My calendar agrees with me.
Our horse, Prince Jade, has decided to be adventurous. One morning Gray saw him following a neighbor up the road. She said when she woke up, he was looking in the window at her. He then followed Gray into the pasture to be fed. Apparently when grandson Carter went to visit Prince Jade on a recent visit, he failed to secure the gate properly. Later the same day, Prince Jade escaped again and visited a different neighbor. He was having a good time running through people’s yards and did not care to go back to the pasture. Finally, thanks to the efforts of several of our wonderful neighbors, he was persuaded to go into our next door neighbor’s paddock. Gray discovered that all the wind and rain had done quite a number on our electric fence, so he spent a lot of time this week getting it back into good operating order.
