Holly Ridge Town Council got its first glimpse of the proposed budget during a recent budget workshop.



According to a letter from Town Manager Joseph Pierce included in the agenda packet sent to council members on May 8, the proposed budget will keep the property tax rate at 41.5-cents per $100 of assessed value for the 2015-16 fiscal year.



The budget proposes a 3-percent cost-of-living adjustment for all employees and a variable pay scale adjustment for some employees.



Information about which employees would be eligible for a variable pay scale adjustment was not immediately available.



It also includes a $2,000 donation to Turkey Creek Fire Department and a $10,000 budget for fireworks.



The budget includes $2,252,922 in revenues, up from $2,121,411 in the 2014-15 fiscal year. The proposed revenues include:
