Humans are fragile creatures which require clean water, nourishing food and fresh air to breathe, like most life on Earth. Unfortunately, we are also one of the most self-destructive creatures.
We live in homes made of plastic and chemicals, made so airtight that we need carbon monoxide and radon detectors to tell us when we are dying. We paint everything with chemicals, we eat everything filled with chemicals and then we wonder why 70 percent of us have a form of cancer.
We destroyed the Native American Indians, who could have taught us a thing or two about living off the land without destroying it. Right now there is a giant fight out west where once again the Native Americans are fighting to keep our water safe to drink. What do the corrupt politicians and big oil companies do? They bulldoze their ancient burial sites and push forward. This is wrong.
Greed is so dangerous, but no amount of money can bring back our environment once destroyed. We better watch it folks, this is our turning point and apparently we are not smart enough to realize there isn’t an Earth II waiting for us if we destroy this one.
Fracking kills the land, poisons the water and causes earthquakes. All bad, but it can be stopped.
Heroin is out of control, and most people will tell you there is no funding to help those addicted. Did you see the photo of the 4-year-old boy in the backseat of a truck while his grandmother and another man were OD’ing in the front seat? To think she was awarded custody terrifies me as to what his parents were like. The photo was released by the East Livepool (Ohio) Police Department because they wanted to bring this terrible epidemic to light. This is real and everywhere and has no regard for anyone.
Please do your best to prevent anyone from getting started in the first place. Surf City PD now has a medication drop box available year round. Get rid of those old or no longer used pills — they are too enticing.
Things to ponder this week:
Clown sightings are up which is very strange. Is this a publicity ploy? If so, for what? I hate clowns.
Why do debit cards have a daily limit? Isn’t that your money that it is debiting? Hmmm. Corporate America strikes again. Time to take back what is yours. Enough is enough.
Putting a fist up in the air during the National Anthem is dumb — cut it out. Stand up and do it right!
Remember knowledge is power and it’s perfectly fine to get pissed about stupid stuff — how else will we ever change? Use your words and make them count.
