This past weekend I was searching for a shop my husband needed something from. I pulled up the store “app” and got directions. The app unfortunately took me to the wrong side of town and basically in circles. When I called the store to ask for the address, the salesman told me he didn’t know. I asked for the manager — she in turn did not know. They told me to look it up on their app. How is this possible? How can we be so dependent on electronics that the basic knowledge of knowing where you are is forgotten? Terrible.

Houston is one of the last places in the country that does NOT have zoning laws. Why you ask? Because the voters feel that “private property” means just that. I own it and I pay taxes for it so you don’t have the right to tell me what to do with it. Congratulations to one of the last groups of people that understand freedom!

Did you know that checking your own credit score can hurt your credit? How stupid is that? Let’s just say it’s equivalent to walking through the kitchen and being blamed for eating everything in the fridge.

How out of control is heroin? Brunswick County schools just got permission to keep the drug “Naloxone” on hand. Wow, we are losing this battle people.

Presidential candidate Donald Trump went to Louisiana with a tractor trailer load of supplies (and toys for children). Where were the other politicians? Publicity stunt or not, it was the right thing to do. Those people just had their lives destroyed — we all need to do what we can to let them know we care.

Remember knowledge is power, always know where the heck you are (at least the name of the road) and remember those people in Louisiana because that could just as easily be us after a bad storm.
