Car and truck show offers variety

Nothing epitomizes the kick-back vibe at the N.C. Blueberry Festival as the Car and Truck Show.

Again this year, on June 21, in Burgaw, the car and truck show will be a popular festival attraction.

There were 124 entries last year, and the judges selected 11 winners, including the prestigious top prizes for “Best in Show” and “Special N.C. Blueberry Festival Award.”

“But we had several trophies from last year that no one picked up,” says Sonny Davis, chair of the car and truck festivities.

“It’s all about the fun and fellowship. Several clubs come just for the fellowship; they don’t even want to be judged.”

Davis expects another colorful variety of vehicles again this year.

“All cars are included (that) fall within the Ford, GM or Mopar classes,” says Davis. “We also give awards for best exterior finish and best interior.”
