Versatile asparagus can be served raw or cooked

¼ cup chopped sweet onion

2 garlic cloves minced

¾ pound fresh asparagus, trimmed, cut into ½ - inch pieces

1 ½ cups or 6-ounces shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 ½ cups half-and-half

3 large eggs, room temperature
