South wind affects surf

Published: Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 01:09 PM.

Well, surfers and surfettes, we had a few days of surf; but man this south wind has really set up on us. If you are trying to surf, the best times have been in the morning on both ends of the island. So far the best spots have been on the north side of Jolly Roger Pier before the wind gets too strong. There is a low pressure coming our way so hang in there

The surf for the upcoming week is looking kind of small — not a whole lot out there right now to produce any. This week will be a great time to work on your long board skills or maybe your paddle board skills. The morning is going to be the best time to get your surf on, and the evening will be the best time to get your paddle board out. Until we get a change in the weather pattern, this is what we are looking at. Remember: Keep surfing in the hands of surfers.
