½     cup halved candied red cherries

10    halved candied cherries, for garnish

½     cup dried apricots, coarsely chopped

½     cup dates, coarsely chopped

½     cup dark raisins

1 1/2  cups pecans, walnuts, Brazil nuts or hazel nuts, coarsely chopped

2     tablespoons coarse white sparkling sugar (Optional)
