Pinch of salt

1     teaspoon vanilla

1/3    cup rum (preferably dark rum), or Grand Marnier, for an orange flavor

3     large eggs, room temperature

1 ½   cups unbleached flour

1     small can crushed pineapple, undrained

¼     cup crystallized chopped ginger (Optional)
