The Relay For Life of Pender County will host its annual dinner to honor cancer survivors on April 27 at 5 p.m. This inspirational Survivor Dinner will take place at Hampstead United Methodist Church , U.S. 17, in Hampstead. This unique event is an open invitation to all cancer survivors and one guest or caregiver from Pender County and surrounding areas.

There is no cost to attend the dinner, but reservations are requested. To RSVP, call Survivor Co-Chair JoAnn Palazzo at 910-409-0774.

"The Relay For Life Survivor Dinner is important for this community because it brings together all cancer survivors to share their stories," Event Co-Chair Stephanie Hollis said. "While every story and diagnosis is different, they all have something in common — they have survived this terrible disease."

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Pender County will be held on May 3 starting at 6 p.m. on the Topsail High School Football/Track Field.

The Relay For Life of Pender County is in full gear for the 2013 event. The fundraising goal this year is $87,500 with 40 teams. A great start has been created with 35 teams registered so far and approximately $45,000 raised to date. It’s never too late to form a team at your workplace, school, church or friends and family.
