Candidate meet and greet

Pender Democrats will hold its second “Meet & Greet” public preentation, featuring the Pender County Democratic slate for 2014 elections from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on April 15. It will be held at the current Maple Hill Community Building, the old Maple Hill School on Maple Hill School Road off N.C. 50.

All candidates will give brief presentations with a question and answer period and brief reception to follow with light refreshments served.

The following Democratic candidates are all expected to attend: District 3 U.S. House - Marshall Adame, NC Senate District 8 - Danny Hefner, NC House District 16 – Steve Unger, Pender Commissioner District 1 – Chris Medlin, Pender Commissioner District 2 – Charles Tippitt, Pender Commssioner Distict 3 – Eugene Meadows, Pender Clerk of Court – Susan Lunsford and Pender Sheriff Scott Lawson.

Four Pender School Board candidates running in non-partisan races will also be on hand: F.D. Rivenbark – District 1, Kenneth Lanier of Maple Hill - District 2 and Demetrice Keith and Katherine Herring – District 4.

This event is the second in a series of “Meet & Greet” events to be held countywide by Pender Democrats. The next one will be May 20 at the Hampstead Community Building. All interested are welcome to attend, regardless of party affiliation.
