Registration has opened for the 2013 fall season for the Surf City Soccer League, run by Surf City Parks & Recreation. Registrations are now being accepted for U-5, U-6, U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14 and U-18 youth divisions. Adult teams are also being formed.
With games played at the Surf City Athletic Fields by the
All players receive a game jersey. Volunteer coaches receive guidance and training, and teams practice weekly. Games will begin right after Labor Day weekend. This is the third fall season for Surf City Soccer, which started with only about 60 players in 2011.
“We are really pleased to be growing and serving the community,” Surf City Parks & Recreation Director Kristie Grubbs said. “I think we have proved that we can offer high quality programs while being affordable to all.”

Finally, Surf City Soccer is hosting its second annual Soccer Camp from July 22 to 26 at the Community Center and athletic fields. Players will get expert instruction from a variety of top coaches including former Topsail High State Champion Coach Henry Contiras, current Rocky Point Trask boys coach Gordon Stanasic, Surf City Soccer founder James Hansley Jr. and Steve Unger who earned a USSF “A” License and coached at the high school and collegiate level.
