Community Yard Sale
A community wide yard sale is scheduled for June 21 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 107 Deerfield Drive in Hampstead (behind Port City Java).  The event will feature lots of household items, books, some furniture and a wide variety of crafting materials, such as fabric, yarn, buttons, etc.  Cash and carry only. Organized by the Episcopal Church Women, all funds will be earmarked for outreach activities at the church. Refreshments will be available for sale that day as well.
Just a few bikes remain for Surf City Parks and Recreation Spin-A-Thon for the local Multiple Sclerosis Foundation to be held June 16 at the Surf City Community Center. The Spin-A-Thon is divided into two segments: 8:30 am to noon and 4 to 7 p.m. with various instructors from the Surf City Spinning program.
Those who participate for at least 30-minute segments can make a donation of their choice. A minimum $10 donation enters a raffle for an oceanfront beach house weekend, and $25 gets an entry in another raffle for a full week. All instructors are donating their time and all funds collected goes to directly to the MS Foundation.
To sign up to ride, call the Surf City Community Center at 910-328-4887 and the front desk will tell you what time slots remain.
