MANAGEMENT

•Sam Macinta has been promoted to director of nursing for the health center at St. Joseph of the Pines in Southern Pines. Macinta, who has nearly 15 years of experience in the health care industry, completed the Licensed Practical Nurse program at Sandhills Community College in 2008 and earned an associate degree in nursing there in 2013. Prior to entering health care, he worked in the hospitality and service industries.

•Wendy Revels Smith has been named vice president, business development officer at FirstBank's Fayetteville branch on Village Drive. Smith has more than 21 years of banking experience.

APPOINTMENTS

•Brenda Clegg, Drew Lucas, Ella Pantaleon and Jeremy Pedley have joined the Sanford Area Growth Alliance Chamber of Commerce board, with their terms ending in 2021. Board member David Caplan began his term as chairman in July.

•Norman C. “Chip” Post Jr. and Julian Philpott, both of Sanford, have been reappointed as trustees of Central Carolina Community College.

•Genia Morris of Dunn has been sworn in as a trustee of Central Carolina Community College. Dylan Hargis, president of the Central Carolina Community College Student Government Association, has been sworn in as an ex officio member of the CCCC board of trustees.

•J. Larry Keen, president of Fayetteville Technical Community College, has been appointed president of the board of directors for the National Technical Honor Society for the 2018-19 year. Keen has served as president of Fayetteville Technical Community College since 2007.
