SILER CITY — The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has awarded the Siler City Fire Department hurst extrication tools (cutter, spreader, ram and accessories) valued at up to $28,729.


With receipt of the official notification on July 2, the department entered into a new era of vehicle extrication. With the addition of these extrication tools, fire department services and capabilities will be greatly enhanced, according to a press release from Fire Chief Scott J. Murphy.


“The ability to serve and protect not only our citizens, but also the surrounding fire departments and the citizens of Chatham County, has greatly improved,” he said. “The Siler City Fire Department wants to thank the Firehouse Subs Franchise in Asheboro and the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for their generous gift.”
