The SBA is accepting nominations for its 2017 North Carolina Small Business Advocates.

Aside from Small Business Person of the Year, the N.C. District Office recognizes people who have “advocated on behalf of veteran business owners, women business owners, and minority business owners,” the press release said.

The criteria for such advocates includes:

• Efforts to increase business and financial opportunities for women, veterans or minorities
• Legal, financial or managerial assistance provided to enhance business ownership
• Voluntary efforts to strengthen the role of business owners within the community
• Advocacy of the women, veteran or minority-owned business community as a whole, not solely for individual personal enhancement

To submit a nomination package, visit SBA.gov. Send nomination packages, which must be postmarked by March 7, to the N.C. District Office, 6302 Fairview Road, Suite 300 in Charlotte.
