Holly Ridge leaders will consider amending a zoning ordinance at their regular meeting tonight.
“There is not a significant change that will impact citizens or (is) having to do with building permits or anything like that,” Joe Pierce, town manager, said, adding that the amendment is just from “legislative updates that have been handed down (from the state).”
Town leaders also plan to discuss moving funds from the Liberty Fountain and Parks and Recreation accounts into the general checking account, the agenda said.
Moving the funds, Pierce said, is just a way to balance the town’s budget and account for revenues.
The town will also announce potentially closing town hall for the Christmas holiday on Dec. 23, 26, and 27, Pierce said.
Officials will also announce the town’s Children’s Christmas Party, which will be held Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. at the community center, 404 Sound Road in Holly Ridge. According to the Holly Ridge website, the event is free for children 12 and younger and canned food donations will be accepted. The event will include raffles, a visit from Santa Claus, music, food, and gifts.
The board will meet at 7 p.m. at town hall, 212 North Dyson St. in Holly Ridge.
