The Onslow County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing man last seen Thursday morning.
Gary Ray Morton, 66, has breakfast every morning at Helen’s Kitchen on North Marine Boulevard and like most mornings he was there Thursday, said Maj. Chris Thomas with the sheriff’s office.
After eating, Morton left and has not been seen since, Thomas said.
There were suspicious circumstances surrounding his disappearance that Thomas was unable to comment on Friday afternoon. Due to those circumstances the sheriff’s office believes Morton may be in danger.
He owns a number of rental properties and his business, Morton Realty, and typically visits the properties after breakfast, Thomas said. The sheriff’s office has been checking these properties for Morton with no luck.
Morton is described as a white man, 5’8” tall, and 200 pounds with grey hair and blue eyes and drives a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban with a North Carolina license plate of BKH-6160, according to a press release.
