More than 60 colleges and universities will be aboard Camp Lejeune this week showcasing the educational and vocational options their schools offer to Marines, sailors, retirees and family members.
The National Education Expo will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Goettge Memorial Field House.
Sponsored by Coastal Carolina Community College, the expo will give those who attend a chance to talk directly to college and university representatives about degree and vocational program opportunities for their school.
Information about financial aid, scholarships, distance learning and more will also be available. Those unable to attend can find similar information about the GI Bill, for example, at the Education Assistance offices at the John. A. Lejeune Education Center located at Stone Street, Camp Lejeune or AS-212 Bancroft St., MCAS New River.
The event is open to active duty personnel, military retirees, their families and Camp Lejeune and New River employees.
Children are not permitted at the event for safety reasons as well as the professional nature of the event.
