GREENSBORO — Get inspired to create a wow-worthy table just in time for holiday entertaining.
Award-winning designer and regional artisan Jill Seale will show you the time-honored craft of marbling and share insights on how to mix dinnerware patterns with textiles to create a modern tablescape.
The event will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Replacements, Ltd., 1089 Knox Rd., McLeansville.
The N.C.-based designer collaborates with well-known furniture, textile and rug manufacturers as well as producing her own line of home accents and decor, tabletop and wearables.
"I fell in love with my mother's gorgeous 1950s Sascha Brastoff marbled china, which inspired me to travel to Italy to study the art of paper marbling, ultimately launching a whole new career in textiles," Seale said. "When studying in Florence, I had the chance to experience workshops taking a generations-old, time-honored craft and bringing a contemporary approach to it. I felt liberated to bring my own creative dialogue to the ancient art of marbling, thus bringing it forward to new generations. The process is magical and mesmerizing — I can't wait to share it with everyone."
Seale's licensed products have been sold at Target, Hallmark, Pier 1 Imports, Nordstrom and Macy's, as well as worldwide retailers.
Tickets are $15 and include a light lunch.
