FRIDAY

Glitzy Divas lunch date: 11:30 a.m., Olive Garden, 432 Cox Road, Gastonia. New friends are always welcome. The women meet monthly for lunch.

Food Truck Friday: 5 to 9 p.m., Main Street, Mount Holly. The Legacy Motown will perform. Warming up the crowd will be DJ Mr. Musicman. There will also be activities for children. Bring blankets and lawn chairs.

Senior Dance: 7 to 10 p.m. Gaston County Citizens Resource Center, 1303 Dallas Cherryville Highway, Dallas. Admission is $5 per person. Light refreshments served. The Country Bucks will perform.

 

SATURDAY

Autism Society of Gaston County Coffee Talk: 10 to 11 a.m. Panera Bread, 2625 E. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia. Anyone with a child on the autism spectrum is welcome attend.

Gastonia Moose Family Center Back to School Bash: Noon, 626 Diane 29 Theater Road, Gastonia. The fire department and rescue squad will be on hand and there will be a bouncy house and games for children. Children will also receive free back-to-school supplies and a free identity kit. Hot dogs will be sold for $1, chips for 50 cents, drinks for $1 and popcorn for 50 cents. Call 704-864-4397.

Bluegrass concert: 6 p.m., Allison Creek Presbyterian Church, 5780 Allison Creek Road, York, South Carolina, featuring a performance by the band Cottonwood. Allison Creek Bluegrass nights will be held the second Saturday of the month at Allison Creek Presbyterian Church, 5780 Allison Creek Road, York, South Carolina. Food will be sold starting at 6 p.m. and the music starts at 6:30 p.m. A bluegrass jam will be held on the lawn before the show. Admission is free.

 

SUNDAY

Stowe family reunion: 1 p.m., Bethesda United Methodist, South New Hope Road, Gastonia, for descendants of Abraham and Mary Buchanan Stowe. 

 

MONDAY

Blood drive: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Gaston County Department of Health and Human Services, 330 N. Marietta St., Gastonia, to support the Community Blood Center of the Carolinas.

Gaston County Senior Center bingo night: 6 p.m., 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Highway, Dallas. Free and open to anyone age 55 or older. Call 704-922-2170.
