Hampstead Physical Therapy receives award

June 18, 2008 Hampstead, N.C. - Hampstead Physical Therapy was recently awarded "Emerging Small Business of the Year" by the 12th Annual Coastal Small Business Awards hosted at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington Small Business and Technology Development Center. This annual event honors local small businesses in the following categories: Young Entrepreneur, Most Innovative Entrepreneur, Emerging Entrepreneur, and Established Entrepreneur. The Hampstead Chamber of Commerce collected local nominations and the winners were announced at the ceremony on June 13, 2008.

"It is a great honor to be recognized by the UNCW Small Business and Technology Development Center as a small business and for the physical therapy services we are providing to the greater Hampstead area. Since opening we have really worked hard to build up the practice and to give the best possible physical therapy to our patients," replied Rusty Walker, Physical Therapist and owner of Hampstead Physical Therapy.

Hampstead Physical Therapy began accepting patients in January of 2006. The clinic has successfully treated so many patients they have outgrown their original office space. To accommodate for the growing needs of the community they have doubled their clinic size and grown into a fantastic staff of five. The staff includes Preston "Rusty" Walker, MPT, chief Physical Therapist, his wife and Business Partner, Tiffany Walker; Heather Moore, PT, Tina Keels, PTA, and Rita Hodshun, Office Assistant.

Hampstead Physical Therapy specializes in physical therapy for common conditions, such as back, shoulder and knee pain. Post-Surgical and Post-Stroke rehabilitation are also part of the specialty programs here at Hampstead Therapy. State-of-the-art equipment paired with personalized treatment plans for each individual patient will both relieve pain and restore function. Their philosophy is based on utilizing effective, evidence-based interventions to achieve maximum results.
