Catering to Island Residents?

As I drive around our beautiful island, I imagine that restaurants and retailers are missing the tourist traffic. A gentle reminder would seem appropriate that islanders are the mainstay of these establishments when the majority of tourists are gone. It would be nice to see the establishment's ads in the Topsail Advertiser promoting "islander specials" to encourage dining and shopping on the island. Seems like this would be a win-win solution for all. Personally, I would love it!
