Thanks to honest people and conscientious civil employees
Yesterday I lost my wallet near the Surf City Pier, but didn't realize it until hours later. My friend and I went back to the lot where we had parked my car and retraced our steps (even checking trash cans) looking for my wallet. All afternoon my friend kept saying "I know we're going to get it back; I have a good feeling about this." Her calm reassurance and her unfailing belief kept me from going to pieces.
But she took it one step further and called the Surf City Police Department and reported the missing wallet. And, believe it or not, within two hours Officer Fitzgerald reported that he'd tracked down the wallet for me. My thanks go out to my friend, the man who turned the wallet in to Buddy's Grill and Officer Fitzgerald. Their collective kindness allowed me to spend today doing the things I'd planned to do versus standing in line at the DMV and on the phone with banks and credit card companies!
It's great to know that there are still some honest people and conscientious civil employees.
