It was a tasty afternoon at the Topsail Chili Festival this weekend in Sneads Ferry, where many vendors ran out early because of high demand. Seventeen tents of vendors with a variety of recipes greeted attendees at Nov. 1 and 2 festival, held at the community center. The International Chili Society sanctioned cook-off — sponsored by the Greater Topsail Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, Charter Business, Topsail Advertiser, and the StarNews of Wilmington — drew a crowd eager to sample the area’s best homestyle chili, as well as guest bands, food vendors and retailers.
