TOPSAIL BEACH — More than 25 years ago, Topsail Beach residents wanted an assembly building for local events.

But they needed money to make it happen.

That’s when Autumn with Topsail — the area’s fall festival — got its start. The festival is held annually at the assembly building on Anderson Boulevard, a tradition that continues this weekend.

Festivities on Topsail Beach begin at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, with a Kiwanis pancake breakfast. The exhibitor's arts and crafts booths open at 9:30 a.m. followed by the food court, beer and wine garden, boat rides, children's activities on grounds and inside Assembly Building at 11.

Summertime will perform from noon to 3 p.m. and Craig Woolard takes the stage from 5 to 8 p.m.

The fun picks back up on Sunday with the pancake breakfast at 8 a.m.; arts and crafts booths opening at 9:30 a.m.; the food court, beer and wine garden, boat rides and children's activities starting at 11 and Band of Oz wrapping things up from 1 to 4 p.m.

Admission is $3 each day. Children 10 and under and active military personnel with a military service ID are free. Pets are not permitted. Proceeds help maintain the historic Assembly Building.
