A full slate of new classes and activities have been added to the Surf City Parks and Recreation lineup.

Start by revisiting the 1960s with a Psychedelic Spin led by Steve Unger on July 22 from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Bring your love beads, tie-dyed shirts, and groovy vibes to this music fest of the 60s. Cost is $5 for this special 75-minute spin. Also on the spinning calendar, Jacob Carlsen will lead an 8:30 a.m. spinning class on Saturdays beginning Aug. 3.

Summer yoga outdoors continues with a series of special events. Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga will take place on July 20 at On Shore Surf Shop (at The Fishing Village) with Jeaneal Guy. It is $35 or $20 if you bring your own paddleboard. Full moon yoga is coming up the evening of July 22 with Amanda Brennan at 7:30 pm. Cost is $10. Wednesday sunrise yoga continues at 5:45 a.m. through the end of July and at 6:15 a.m. in August. The base cost is $10 per session. Steve Unger will lead kayak yoga on Aug. 10 at 10 a.m., also going out from On Shore. It will be $40 for a two-hour session or $20 if you bring your own kayak. An additional charge of $5 is collected for Surf City Community Center guest memberships.

Walk To Run provides basic training for beginning runners through an eight-week program starting Aug. 26. One-hour classes run by Wellness Coordinator Linda Carlsen will take place on Monday nights at 6:30 and Saturday mornings at 8:30. Through this program, participants will gain a better understanding of proper running techniques, along with building endurance, strength and confidence. The cost is $80 for community center members and $95 for non-members.

Linda also continues her boot camp series on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 6 through Aug. 29. Drop-ins are welcome but reserving a spot is encouraged because the number of spin bikes is limited.
